Ganga Aarti

गंगा आरती

The aarti of Maa Ganga as it is performed on the ghats of Kashi.

  1. The complete aarti, in orderEvery stage of the Ganga Aarti from beginning to end, so that the whole sequence is learnt as one connected vidhi.
  2. Each vidhi within the aartiThe offerings made during the aarti — such as shankha-nada, dhupa, deepa, karpura, chamara and pushpa — with the mantra, movement and timing of each.
  3. Preparing for the aartiArranging the asana, the lamps and the other articles before the aarti begins.

गंगा पूजा

The Ganga Pooja is part of the Ganga Aarti and is taught together with it.

  1. Sankalpa & AvahanaTaking the sankalpa and invoking Maa Ganga at the start of the pooja.
  2. Pooja with the upacharasOffering the traditional upacharas to Maa Ganga, each with its mantra.
  3. Stuti & closing prayersThe Ganga stuti and the prayers that complete the pooja.

Yes. The Ganga Pooja is part of the Ganga Aarti, so it is taught together with the aarti. You can also enquire for the Ganga Pooja on its own.

How do I apply?

When do the classes start?

Classes are arranged when a teaching slot is available. The reply to your enquiry tells you when a slot can be given.

Can I learn online, or do I have to come to Kashi?

Both are possible. You can learn online, or come to Kashi (Varanasi) and learn in person. Choose the mode you prefer in the enquiry form.

Why is a passport-size photo needed?

Every enquiry needs a recent passport-size photo of the student for the Trust’s student record. It is kept with the enquiry and is not published anywhere.
